Should I have to participate in Conflict resolution games/exercises?

As some of you may have noted in a previous question, I have a bully for a boss but have decided to stay with the position until the projects I have started are completed (end of May).

Now, after all this, and other garbage he’s dishing out in other departments, HR forced him to attend a management seminar. Instant three day vacation for him. He came back announcing he didn’t learn anything new.

Now, out of nowhere he want us to do these conflict resolution exercises. Not everyone, just the people that have been gutsy enough to stand up to him. Four people out of many. That is immature and a waste of my time!

If we are to do this, then everyone should. In the year I have been there, he has been the one to cause 100% of the conflict. When he is on vacation, or out of town we all get along fabulously. We help each other, rally with each other, support each other…

I sound like a baby, but I don’t want to do these stupid conflict resolution exercises!

If you refuse, he can point to you as the problem in the office, taking the heat off himself. Just play his game, and beat him at it.

Can you higher than your boss and complain about him. Then again,go on the course and next time he has a go at you,use the conflict ideas you have leaned against him

I understand your concern. What cannot be cured must be endured. Please bear with the situation up to May next, and quit the job then.
